Hundreds of Alaskans joined KRSA in writing to the Alaska Legislature to support the Governor's nominees to the Board of Fisheries, and to promote balance between user groups.
Use the letter writing tool below to send a note to Juneau, thanking public officials in Juneau for their vote of support for healthy, sustainable fisheries and meaningful fishing opportunities!
Five well-qualified Alaskans have been nominated to the Board, but special interests are working hard in Juneau to oppose two nominees – including the current Board Chair!
Your letter today will help preserve balance on the board, protect your right to fish, and send the message that Alaska’s fish belong to all of us!
The Board of Fisheries' main role is to conserve and develop the fishery resources of the state. This involves setting seasons, bag limits, methods and means for the state's fisheries, and it also involves setting policy and direction for the management of the state's fishery resources. The Board is charged with making allocative decisions, and the Department of Fish and Game is responsible for management based on those decisions.
Letters submitted through this site will be emailed to all Alaska legislators, the Office of the Governor, and KRSA. Letters submitted through this website may become part of the public record.
